Dikome Balue is the Biggest Indigeneous village in the whole of South west region of Cameroon, the cleanest and most cultured
Fertile volcanic soils due to presence of ash and cinder rendering subsistence farming possible with great yields. It should be noted that this area has been marginalized and almost abandoned by the government leading to very poor road infrastructure. It becomes very difficult for agricultural produce to be localized for markets. Good road infrastructure breeds development. But it is not the case with this area. It is an almost abandoned area despite the abundant resources like timber, iron ore, graphite, quartz and much more undiscovered mineral potential.Climate:
The climate of Dikome Balue is one of the most welcoming with cold wet breeze. Some evenings get foggy and when it rains it is mostly accompanied with hail stones due to heavy condensation. The day temperatures hardly exceed 20�C while at night temperatures fall to 10 �C. Dikome Balue has an equatorial climate with very long rainy season beginning from early April to late November and short dry season from December to March.
Flora and Fauna
This climate favours the growth of very rare species of plants like Salix herbacea, sypress, eucalyptus, conifer (also found in temperate regions) and lot more due to the enormous availability of water. Any plant can grow in Dikome Balue due to its very rich soils and climatic conditions. There is also unexploited virgin forest consisting of a variety of trees eg Iroko, sapelle, ebony, ebang, okan etc
There is a variety of animal species, birds, Amphibians, reptiles , primates.
Vegetation:
Equatorial evergreen forests exist all around Dikome Balue influencing the growth of almost every crop. Any crop can grow here. Rice had once been grown here by our forefathers.
Agriculture:
The predominant occupation of the indigenes is farming. They grow cash crops like coffee, cassava, plantains, cocoyams, cocoa, carrots, tea..
Rural exodus: Movement of pple from rural to urban areas due to lack of some amenities and jobs. There has been a lot of migration within these few years. This is mostly noticed during the rainy season
